***resolved***

Hi guys,

Might want to change the thread title to advice its been resolved incase others need help!

Installing the SSD (64GB Kingspec PATA/IDE SSD 2.5 inch) was relatively painless. I took this into the Apple store to install OS 10.5.8. After formatting the SDD as a PowerPc Partition and not Intel we were able to boot OSX!

Running Pro Tools 8.0.1 (8.0.4 will NOT run on a powerpc based mac)

Took to rehearsal tonight and the system did not crash ONCE. Sessions loads super fast but the computer boot isn't noticeably faster. The thing is really quiet too!

So so relieved for it to be finally working and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their advice on the process. My band and I owe you!
