I researched and apparently the new versions have a very minor processor bump. Is that it? I can get the 256GB model from the refurbished store for 1059 CAD. Is it worth to spend the extra on the 2014 model?

If you can save $50 or more by choosing a 2013 model, then get that instead of the 2014 model.

Thanks. So 2013 13' Air it is, unless if I find a good deal for a 15' rMBP...which will be unlikely given how stupid ebay buyers can be when bidding.

If you want a 15" rMBP, I would check out the 2012 model. The 2013 model was arguably the least significant upgrade to the Mac lineup. The only differences are AC wifi, PCIE Flash, a 3% processor bump, and worse graphics. This would most likely increase battery life, but at least according to Apple, there was no change. The externals are exactly the same. Just something to think about.
