me too. It's bothering me ..

Have you checked what sort of things you are set to be notified about in settings inside the app? Perhaps it's notifying you about more than you think and that's where the other notifications are from? Alternatively you can uninstall the app, sign out from Twitter in the iOS Settings, reinstall the app, sign back in, and see if that clears things up.
