So I'm currently in a place which offers ethernet and wifi, but you can only use it if your MAC address is allowed. My MAC address for wifi is allowed, but not my ethernet address. Unfortunately, the wifi here it painfully slow but the ethernet is great, so I spoofed my ethernet address to be the same as my wifi address, and all is good. Now, I want to create a wifi hotspot using my MBP so I can get the good internet on other devices, but for some reason I can't share my internet. I have already changed my wifi MAC address because there might be a problem with the ethernet and wifi having the same address, but it still doesn't work. What happens is that when I enable internet sharing, the arrow icon appears instead of my wifi for only half a second before changing back to normal wifi and trying to join another network. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
