I got some 10.5 disks advertised as Full Retail and having black disk with silver cross.

Disks arrived, in a black hologram box.

One disk is black with silver X marked 10.5.6 but the other two are grey install disks for macbook.

One of the grey disks is marked Mac OS X install disk 1. Version 10.4.6
The other is marked Install disk 2. Version 1.0

Have I been duped?

I was hoping to install this on an iMac G4 17" 1.25ghz flowerpot.

Gray disks are keyed to a specific Mac, so if they don't match up, you'll not be able to use them. If the seller advertised them as retail, then you were duped.

Looking at other 10.5 disks on ebay, I see that most are just one DVD with 10.5 on, so maybe I am ok, the seller has just put some 'other' mac disks in the box for some reason...

Anyway, could anyone who actually has bought 10.5 confirm that all I need is the one DVD disk?

If you have the dark colored one with 10.5, then that is all you need.

OK, I DO have the black disk with the big X on marked install DVD 10.5.6

So I can ignore the other two grey disks...?

Correct?

Nothing to stop me from installing on an iMac G4 1.25ghz with a blank HDD in?

(Sorry to ask again, there are a few conflicting answers above  )

Right, the black disc is the proper one. The gray disc's are for specific Mac models, and not necessarily the one you have.

I got worried when I got the disks in the post this morning...
