I'm looking to sell my Apple MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.6 15" Mid-2012. I upgraded to the mid-2014 macbook pro 15" w/ retina

It has a 2.6ghz Core i7
8GB RAM
180GB SSD
1680x1050 anti-glare screen
Nvidia 650m GPU w/ 1GB GDDR5 RAM

http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...re-i7-2.6-15-mid-2012-unibody-usb3-specs.html

Someone is looking to buy it but I'm not sure how much it's worth. I looked on ebay and apples refurbs. I was thinking like 1200 for it.

What are your thoughts?

get quotes from gazelle and other resellers. you should be asking more than what the quotes offer you.

I'm too lazy to do it but check on eBay. Don't sell it to online resellers unless you want to be ripped off. You will make the most money if you sell online.

So you know you should get more than $700 selling direct. Look at Powermac or MAllofAllTrades to see what their prices are for the same models.

There are lots of things people shouldn't do but do anyway. Most of the time it's about wanting a certain thing that the other thing didn't have. In this case the ability to do 4k display.

OP, you shouldn't upgrade to 2014 rMBP. Mid 2012 rMBP is not bad. But that is your decision anyway. :apple:
