Awesome! This made me drop from 80-99 celcius to 40-50 :)

VMware Fusion 6 seemed more smooth for me and more responsive than Parallels Desktop 9 - and the Parallels Desktop can't use the dedicated card anyways it's seems.

Working soluting for the Macbook pro running hot with VMware running Windows 7/8

I was looking for the solution for the overheating problem for months. The solution is in fact very simple. Just deactivate automatic windows updates in the control panel and disable the windows autoupdate service. It perfectly worked for me on macbook pro mid 2010 and VMware Fusion with Windows 8.1!

Have fun.

If you think those temperatures are bad you would hate to use my rMBP. I've seen mine go up to 212 F.

Running two OSes at the same time WILL generate heat, especially if you're usin a descrete graphics card. Your tempts are normal. I virtualize all the time, sometimes two instances of Windows at a time. You're fine.
