iTunes U syncs between iPhone and iPad but not Mac.

iTunes U will sync between my iPhone and iPad but the content will not show up on iTunes on my Mac. My Mac is running 10.8 and I tried backing up my iPhone to iTunes but iTunes U doesn't even appear in the drop down menu on the upper left in my iTunes library let alone show the content. Is there anyway to fix this? I'd like to watch my iTunes U content on my Mac while on the train commuting to work.
