MBP restarts randomly, SSD damaged?

I have a huge problem with my MBP 2010 as it restarts randomly without warning.
Sometimes it runs for 2 days without any issue and then it will restart right in the 10 mins
another day. Interestingly it is not a kernel panic as it sometimes happened with snow leo.
The screen just turns black and the MBP restarts.
It occurs with and without external drives attached.

About 2 to 3 months ago I have upgraded to a SSD (Crucial 960GB) which runs in the former optical drive location.The old HDD is still in use for data storage but OSX Mavericks runs on the SSD.

I have tried to disable trim enablee but the problem persists.

I did run a extended hardware test but could not find anything.

I used SMART utility and it says the drive is failing.

Then I did run Drive genius 3 and could not find problems.

I also tried Drive dx and it say everything is perfect.

What would you guys say is the drive really the problem??

Could be faulty RAM.

Run diagnostics on the MacBook. To do this hold 'D' and press the power button. Keep on holding 'D' until a little icon shows up that looks like a monitor and a chip. The MacBook will then run Apple Hardware Test.

If it passes then I'd say it might be the SSD. If it fails then it might be RAM.

Random reboots is usually associated with bad RAM or logic board. If it was the SSD you would experience crashes, slow down, and read/write errors.

thanks for the reply

I did run extended hardware test upon startup with holding down "D"
but it did not find anything.

I removed one RAM chip and it happened soon after startup
so I removed the RAM and put in the other chip but fairly soon
the MBP restarted again.

I fear that it might be the GPU

If they dont change it under warranty (NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB)
has anyone had experiences with services that just change the graphic chip??

The 2010 MBPs had a known issue with the GT 330M.

Apple did offer a repair program for it some time back.

yeah i read a lot about it today but i fear that I am out of the 3 year after purchase window. I bought the MBP in may 2010.

It was my first mac and I thought such a expansive machine would work at least as long as my cheap old pc (which is now 10 years old and still works).

I hope for a friendly genius but I already looking for a GPU replacement service. Has anyone experiences with those services that change just the GPU?

This driver (AppleMuxControl) is buggy. Use gfxCardStatus to disable the discrete GPU.

update

Update:

So I went to the Apple store and they ran the VST test.
Unfortunately it said FAILED

So apparently I am another case with the TS4088 problem because of the bad NVIDIA graphic card.

They told me the only option was a new Logic board and that I had to pay the full price.
They also informed me that even if they replaced it it would only have 90 days warranty.
This is such a joke!!!

I contacted apple care and pressed the issue friendly but with determination to get them to agree to a repair. All arguing with this being a problem that had been present all the time and the there was the TS4088 repair program did not help.
I told them that I used to be a happy customer and had converted a lot of my friends to apple users. Nevertheless they basically told me that can not expect Apple to repair a known problem after warranty has run out. And that loosing me as a customer is not a problem. They said 6 months ago the repair would have been covered. Great Apple that's what I call service.
Do you think it would help to write an email to apple? I guess not.

I downloaded the gfx card tool but I need to use 2 monitors which is not possible with the internal grafics.
