Is there a way to control what the play button does?

I don't use iTunes the Mac app, not for anything. But every time I click on the Play button, it launches. Is there a way to have another app (Rdio) launch instead?

Also is there a way to stop iTunes from launching when I visit pages of iPhone apps on iTunes (not the app).

Heck, is there a way to delete iTunes?

+1 on this... there was a workaround for 10.9.3, but it seems with every os update apple adds code to break these workarounds - very very annoying!!!

would be very glad to find a simple solution for this, working on 10.9.4
