Any thoughts on this?

So basically it's now:

Basic - Free
Essentials - Free with a signup to the Sketchbook website portal
Pro - $2.99 a month/$24.99 a year, or you can buy outright from the website for $65

If you pay the subscription for two years, you're only paying $49.98, which isn't that bad considering Autodesk's update cycle.

In general, I'm pretty excited about the new iCloud support.

What's New though...

The latest update killed the MAS version. So if you're interested, don't bother at the moment. And don't update either! They're working on a fix.

The update notes are amazingly funny though... I'll attach a picture.

subscriptions.......ugh

in this case the fee isn't so alarming, but when I consider CAD subscription, Adobe subscription, Microsoft subscription..........it's like any "low monthly payment", they add up to real money taken altogether.

Subscriptions suck, but at least they give you the option to buy it outright unlike some other companies.

macrumors apparently
imo, I prefer subscriptions to skyhigh priced packages, with a finite survival rate.

props extended to Lares for trying to save people from instability grief
