Itune images sync

When I sync photos from my computer to my iphone I noticed there is an ipod photo cache stored in the folder that I synced from. In the ipod photo cache folder are there just the images I synced from my computer to my iphone? Or are all my photos from my phone stored in the ipod photo cache folder?

The folder only contains the resized images that sync to your device. Photos (and videos) generated by the device (in the camera roll) are saved when an iTunes backup is created.
