Damn, that's bad. When the phone is on the dock, does it get hot? Excessive heat could ruin the battery.

Nope, the only time it gets excessively hot is when I use LTE data, but I think its always done that (which is probably why the battery degraded so badly).

I let it charge overnight and FullChargeCapacity is now at 546, but that's still crap really.

Also: I just realized that its charging past 100?

BatteryCurrentCapacity: 100
BatteryIsCharging: true
FullyCharged: false

Perhaps I should disconnect it to keep it from over-charging?

Hi all, I'm having some issues with my iPhone 5, it feels like the battery doesn't last very long (I'm on iOS 7.0.3) so I had a look around and saw people mention iBackupBot to see what the battery is actually holding.

These are my results what do you think? The iPhone was bought in October last year. The full charge capacity seems a little low at just 177 cycles.

Wow my iPhone 4 that was bought in 2012 has 897 cycles still at 1300 and 91% of the original specs. Thats a fake battery in my opinion (checked with batterylife from cydia)

ExternalChargeCapable

What does it means "ExternalChargeCapable"?

For some persons it shows "true" and other times "false". If "false" does it means a problem?

Yeah my launch iphone 4 also reports 1300 mAH with over 970 cycles. While I also am suspect of retaining its capacity after all this time. It's still light years better than battery from iPhone 5. After 700 cycles, it degraded to 800 mAH.

iPhone 5 Battery degradation - Does it look right?

My 5 is 15 months old. I'm at 270 cycles and 1250 mAh according to battery doc.

That's about 86.7% of new capacity. Not bad, but I definitely notice the missing 13.3%!

After 20 months of use I'm at 813 cycles with 1272 capacity still left on my iphone 5. Battery still dies after 1% surprised it has held up this well and still going.

I am worried about my battery life
Battery degraded much in just 44 cycles?
Is this normal?

I think you guys worry too much about numbers. The important question is does your battery last as long as you like? Can you get through a day without having to charge? What's your usage patterns like?

That's fine. 95% is expected. Out of the box it could have been already at 95%

I get 4 hours of usage on 3g while using whatsapp on lowest brightness level. And apple quotes that the battery will give 9 hours of usage!

This is the iphone 4s i got from my brother, so far the battery life has been worse than i expected (never had an iphone before) and sometimes the charging is kinda ****ed (it starts charging at 30% even though it was at 1% before) or it says its at 1% when its actually at like 15%.
Reckon i should grab a new battery? also sometimes it doesnt charge, not sure if its the cord (tried 3 old cords and only occasionally they work)

The batteries are only really designed to keep capacity above 80% I think it is over 500 cycles. At 900+ cycles the battery isn't as bad as I would of expected but a new one would probably sort all your problems. Check iFixit to see how to do it, don't think its very hard on a 4S.

Your iP5 obviously has a new battery. It has only 6 cycles of charging. I doubt u have charged it only 6 times since u have bought it back in 2012...;)

Had my battery replaced again last week. 1100 full charge capacity after just one year. The iPhone 5 battery degradation is terrible  .
