I guess it just depends if you are on a family plan or individual. Next also has a monthly fee in addition to the phone price.
The monthly fee for NEXT is just your installment for the device. It would be no different compared to buying outright with, say, a credit card and just paying a little bit every month except with the credit card, you might have to pay interest. As far as I'm aware, it's only T-Mobile's JUMP program that has a monthly fee.

There is no Verizon reception at my house. There is excellent Sprint and usable AT&T reception at my house. I can't bring myself to sign up with Sprint, so I just stay with AT&T.

Since I don't have a contract, there is nothing to end, but in the US I have AT&T.

I live/work/play in the Midwest & South and routinely travel through rural areas. In my experience, VZW's coverage is best in these areas. Also, their LTE coverage and strength is unmatched in these areas. While traveling to other areas (Seattle, Portland, Denver, and others), I've had no issues.

Ahh. I thought it also carried the fee.

I'll stay with T-Mobile. GSM network, excellent rates, fast data, unlimited data, and free roaming data. Only complaint is lack of rural LTE but it should be resolved by this time next year.

ATT. According to map, I'm in a TMobile hole that only offers 2G. And at least with staying with ATT I have backup phones available.

On the other hand, the last holdout of other people I talk with a lot just changed to unlimited talk plans. So even if I didn't have an ATT plan (where M2M works), they wouldn't be adversely impacted. My 450 minute plan has been fine, since most of my calls are M2M.

the new Sprint ad running on TV right now

the US market is getting competitive.

good news for every customers

I've been using both AT&T and T- Mobile concurrently for years. Now with the build out of T-Mobile network in my area, the speed and coverage equals AT&T, an impressive accomplishment.I plan to continue using both.

I'm on AT&T and will stay as long as I have a 25% discount and they have coverage where I need it.

Verizon...

One day with both T-Mobile, and Sprint, and boy was I disappointed with the lack of coverage in my area. Version for sure. ;)

Verizon no question.

Blazing fast and robust LTE almost everywhere in the country. The other 3 carriers just don't compare. At the end of the day it's all about being able to use all of your phone's functions wherever you happen to be and the other 3 are just too inferior to Verizon right now to consider switching.

I just dropped AT&T after 17 years. I live in a rural area and their service has gotten worse and worse. We have a local carrier that has roaming deals with Verizon that gets much better service and I'm paying the same price for unlimited talk/text and 500MB for $68 or so a month. I've only had the local carrier for 5 days. Yeah I don't can't talk and surf at the same time but I couldn't do that on AT&T either because the service wasn't there.

I had Verizon for a few years, but I've always been a little ticked that the iphone doesn't support simultaneous voice & data on Verizon despite the fact that virtually all their other phones do (yes, I know it's Apple's design limitation and not Verizon's fault). There have been times when I've need SVD.

Anyway, AT&T has recently upgraded service recently in my area, so I decided to try it out with a pre-paid SIM on a Nexus 5. I was not disappointed. So I ported my main number from Verizon and I'm running it on the Nexus 5. I also have an iPhone 5S, so I believe I could put my ATT SIM card in it and it'll be supported, including LTE.

So, happy to have switched from Big Red to Big Blue.

My contract ends on 9/15/14 with AT&T and I plan on sticking with them for as long as their coverage continues to meet my needs. Their LTE coverage in the Philly market is much better than any of the other 3 carriers including Verizon. AT&T's customer service has treated me very well since I have been with them. Also, they are still allowing me to keep my unlimited data plan with a full subsidy phone upgrade unlike Verizon.

AT&T 52 46.43%
Verizon 25 22.32%
Sprint 2 1.79%
T-Mobile 27 24.11%
Other 6 5.36%

Not looking good for Sprint.
