Decided on 64 GB space grey 6+. I went to target tonight and held a similarly sized phone; didn't mind the size.
If you folks are not sure which to get, why not wait for the dust to settle, read the reviews and go handle the devices in the stores?
I think pre-ordering is just a bad choice, overall. It is a gamble (though I know folks will just say that they will exchange it if they don't like it)... I guess this is why the refurb business is so robust.

I've been torn, going back and forth. Was set on 6+ this morning, but now have decided on the 6. I agree that the benefits of the OIS camera, higher resolution, and better battery life are draws for the 6+. But the compromise on comfort due to its size is the detraction. I was 50.01% leaning towards the 6+, until I read of choppy transitions & animations due to the extra pixels taxing the GPU. That did it for me. I'll get the 6..it's $100 cheaper, bigger than my 5 screen, will fit in one hand, will fit in my pocket, an upgrade from my 5 camera, and I won't look foolish holding an iPad up to my ear for calls.
Where did you read about the choppiness? I've heard little to nothing about the phone.
"As someone who has been using Note devices for a few years, I can assure you that if you have the iPhone 6 Plus for one week, you will pick up and iPhone 5 and think its tiny.
Do not judge the size within 1 minute of holding it. If you have it for one week, the iPhone 6 Plus will be the new normal size.
Better battery life, better camera, better display. There is only one choice. The iPhone 6 plus."
"Note 3 user.
If someone is dead set on an iPhone, I agree. The size may seem outrageous at first, but I promise its not. The screen size is liberating. And the battery life alone is worth it.
Go with the 6 Plus."
"Yea, I think thats the biggest thing to address. Many people make quick judgements based on what they believe is "normal"
But, and this is coming from Android guys, you really need to use the iPhone 6 Plus for a bit and then I promise it will feel natural.
Lets disregard the fact that it has a better camera and display. At worst the iPhone 6 Plus has 25% better battery compared to the iPhone 6
Think about that."

I checked out a Galaxy Note 3 and the S5. The Note really didn't seem that ridiculous in my hand. The iPhone form factor probably would be better, too.
S5 was a nice size, but I did not like that the iP6 screen would be even smaller after looking at these two models. It's clear Apple intended to position itself between these two Samsung offerings.
Side note: the Samsung OS is functionally and visually horrendous.
Why would the iPhone form factor probably be better?
Your side note is subjective.

I can't decide. I had the Note 2 at one point, and just got tired of how big it was. I just don't know if I can get use to something bigger. The features are the only thing I want the Plus for
If you lift weights, run, bike, whatever, that brick is going to wear on you quick. It will be great surfing, watching, playing, toting it is going to suck.
I'm starting to think iPhone 6 plus iPad is the best way to go, was thinking of going with the plus and passing on the new iPad and have it pull double duty but don't think using a 5.5" screen would be big enough but the thought of just one device is tempting to try and make it work... Errr
I tend to favor the most technologically advanced iPhOne so 6+ it is most likely.

Who are we kidding? You 5.5" will be an excuse to get a 10" iPad instead of a mini iPad.

The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus looks and feels much bigger, and it's harder to hold one-handed. It has a 1080p display, though sleuthing from developer Steve Troughton-Smith has already discovered that these images are actually being rendered at 2208×1242 and downscaled to 1080p. The phone uses a new “3x” graphics mode that calls for assets three times the resolution they would have been on a standard iPhone. Apple used the same method to avoid scaling problems when moving from standard displays to “Retina” displays (2x mode).
We didn’t see any visible blurriness as a result of this scaling, though some UI animations and transitions seemed to be a little choppier than they are on the iPhone 6 or our iPhone 5S—we’ll need to wait for our full review to see just how the A8 chip handles the resolution change. On-screen buttons and other elements on the 6 Plus are a little larger than they are on the 6.
Did the plus need more powerful hardware I wonder.
Best thing to do is get the 6 Plus, if it seems to big, eBay will be a great place to make some money off of it, sell it and get the 4.7 6.
