Most people that are getting the plus did you previously own a 32gb or 64gb to justify paying the extra?

I settled on the 6 which I believe is £10 cheaper in the uk was than the 5s but still £40 more than it was a few years back.

Most I see go for the plus 64gb which is almost £700 or something which seems very expensive if going sim free.

I'm going from a 64GB 5 to a 128GB 6 (not Plus), and it's the same price as I paid two years ago, three years ago, four years ago,... The Plus would only be $100 more, which isn't bad, considering the camera and perks. It's just too damn big for me.

But if you're in the rhythm of (and can plan ahead for) selling/buying/selling/buying, a $100 jump isn't too bad, IMO.

I've always heard that it technically should be "wife and I" – although I'm from the UK, so I guess that's the archaic, 'proper' way to say it. Nobody does.

Not in the phrase "for my wife and me." That word "for" is a preposition, and both the words "wife" and "me" are objects of that preposition. The objective case of the first-person pronoun is "me." "I" is the subjective case, as in when it's used as the subject of a sentence (e.g. "My wife and I bought iPhones."). Like someone mentioned earlier, if you can't remember or understand all that, all you have to do is remove the "<noun> and " portion and it'll be blatantly obvious which one you should use.

I work 40+ hours and make decent $$$. No magic to it. Go to college, get into IT, profit. :) Oh and not having kids helps I'm sure. :p

ATT Next breakout of plans means that extra $100 is only about $5 a month difference.
A few bucks at that point is moot from going from $37 a month to $42 for example.

Even if cash, if you are spending $749, whats another $100 at that point?

We live on a budget have for many years. We have zero debt so in place of a "make payment to" line in our budget we have a line item for monthly spending money for From A Buick 8, I set aside part of that every week for items just like this.

pretty simple anyone can do it.

Like me....even though I don't have a GREAT paying job and neither does my wife... I save for moments like this...Ive known for a while that this day was coming, so I planned for it.... Alot of people don't understand how people can have nice things and not be rich.... save for the things that you know make you happy....
Having a nice phone and guns make me happy :)

Because I have a good job.

Yep...

Just go to twerk everyday.

iPhone 6+ Gold 128Gb secured! Took forever waiting on the apple store app to get it loaded up, but finally did about an hour after launch.

If you have to finance your phone, your priority's are out of whack; plain and simple. ;)

I scheduled an appointent next Wednesday to have my kidney removed so I can sell it and use the cash for the 6 plus.

I can pretty much afford the 6+ only because I don't upgrade yearly. I've had my 4S for 3 years now so that's how I justify it. The one thing I've done for impulse buying is to throw all my coin change in a bucket at the end of the day. Since the last year alone, I've accumulated $500 worth of change. Yeah, I know, it's still money earned, but it doesn't hurt so bad cashing it out and having to fork out the additional $450 for the 6+ 64GB. Unfortunately, I have to wait November for the officially factory unlocked version. More coins to save.

How do I afford it?

No fancy dinners.
No fancy clothes.
No fancy car.
No fancy house.

Good job.

Okay - I have to say it. This is such a silly question.

I work for the best chocolate sandwich cookie company "Nabisco" they pay me good. Lol. Let's keep it there.

Like others have said: it's only $100 more

we have always gotten the largest capacity phone available and did the same this time.

I'm getting $340 in Amazon credit for my black iPhone 5 64GB Verizon. The 128GB version I'm ordering is only $499. I'll take the most advanced iPhone ever in a massive capacity for ~$200 after taxes and upgrade fee. Seems like a steal. Just found out the reservation order went through too, so I'll get it on 9/19. So happy right now after a rough night.

Bought a 6 Plus 64GB full retail from Verizon, $849. Selling my 5S and accessories for around $400-500 takes me down to around $349-399, or what I would have paid to buy it on a new 2 year contract. I take care of my phones, so I tend to be able to flip them easily when/if needed.
