So I tried updating to ios 8 on my iphone 5 but i used the old itunes version and now the phone is stuck on the "connect to itunes" screen.

I tried restoring back to 7.1.2 but it gives me error 3014. I also tried in recovery and dfu mode but i get the same error.

Any ideas how this can be fixed?

Thanks.

Follow all of the steps in this article. Attempt to restore a total of 3 times, and try from different computers and with different cables. If all else fails afterwards, call Apple.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 5s... make sure the cable you use is an original Apple cable. Aftermarket cables won't work for some reason.
