Did you order the iPhone 6 (4.7 inch) or the iPhone 6 Plus (5.5 inch)?

iPhone 6 because I 4.7" will be the perfect size for me. It was the size I wanted the iPhone 5 too be, I always thought the upgrade from 3.5" to 4" was not major hence why I didn't upgrade my iPhone 4.

3.5" to 4.7" will a pretty big difference but not as huge as 5.5".

Also I don't care about OIS. I got my bigger screen and for the same price I got 64GB instead of 16GB.

I already knew what OIS does and how it works, thanks.

I'm also aware of this too, thanks. I still don't see why this negates having OIS on a smartphone camera.

Thank you, for once again pointing out something I already knew. I'm sure at some point down the road, sensor capabilities may improve such such that faster shutter speeds at low light are possible. In the meantime, I felt that for MY purposes, it was worth getting an iPhone 6 Plus to take advantage of a camera feature not present on the 6.

And you'll also note that I did specify another reason that *I* found compelling enough to consider the 6 Plus over the 6. The camera wasn't the only thing. But thanks for trying really hard to show me that I made a bad purchase decision before either of us even have any actual product in-hand, and for treating me as if I know nothing about photography. I truly appreciate that. :)

Wow, really? Is this what the forums have come too? You somehow gathered that the piece from the Verge would insult your knowledge of cameras? Not only is it sad, but you also managed to come off as arrogant. There's nothing in there that would question your knowledge of cameras, besides the fact that you replied with "not sure what your point is", hence I replied with a piece taken from the Verge. How you decided to make this personal is beyond me.

I was genuinely trying to discuss the difference. Instead I get a sad reply of an immature (insert random age) person who believes I could give a damn on what type of phone he decided to buy. This had nothing to do with your purchase decision and the fact that you considered this to be personal on some level, speaks volumes about you. Try not to take everything so incredibly seriously. It's just a phone buddy and I was contributing with an interesting piece about the potential differences. Talk about misinterpreting that in its entirety.

Unfortunately these forums have lately become filled with insecure people with a laughable attitude thinking they've spent their lives making these phones with a need to defend them for their lives.

For the record, you can look through my previous posts on this site regarding the phones, and the one thing I claim is that we should be waiting for reviews in order to truly realise the differences.

And yes, I knew you had additional reasons for wanting to go with the 6+, but the interesting and questionable difference between the phones where I felt one could have an interesting discussion, was the OIS.

Oh boy was I wrong.

iPhone 6 (4.7) for me. Pocket fit was a big driver for me and personally the 5.5 inch screen version is just too husky for my liking.

You didn't present the content you posted as quoted, and it looked like original material to me the way it was presented.

I apologize for misunderstanding. Though I will say that I disagree quite a lot with the Verge, on a great many number of things. The OIS inclusion of OIS being one of them.

6+ for all the previously stated reasons. Larger screen for movies/Netflix/TV streaming, OIS for better low light/night stills, longer battery life, looking to consolidate my devices (selling the iPad Mini).

Interesting to see the poll is close to 50/50. But I agree with others who think there will be 6+ owners who made an impulse buy based on the features and will return it for a 6, purely for size reasons.

The 6+ is definitely not an impulse buy. It's a huge phone -- the way you use a smartphone everyday will be very different, moving from a 4 or 5 to a 6+. Having only used a 5" screen smartphone in the past, I made a cardboard cutout and tested it out just to make sure I was OK using it, putting it in my favorite pants pocket, holding it up to my ear, etc, and am now comfortable with my decision. But the majority probably haven't even done that, thinking "oh I'l get used to it" and then see it in person and be shell-shocked. Granted, there may also be people who do the opposite (go from 6 to 6+), but I don't think there will be nearly as many.

Overall Apple made a good decision releasing 2 phones. It's pretty obvious from reading these boards that there is a need/justification for having both sizes available.

I got the 6. Portability is number one for me. For anything else, I have my rMini 64gb LTE and even that was chosen for portability.

I'm so glad we have choices

Am surprised that majority of people here want the 6 plus as i have read apple fans used to say they are perfectly happy with 3.5 inch screen up until 4S saying 5 inch is too big but now i cant believe most want the 5.5 inch screen !! What's up with that ??!!

Probably the reality that a vocal minority don't represent all customers. And the reality that opinions can and do evolve with time.

I tried cutouts for both models. Price was not a factor in my decision. Went with a 64GB iPhone 6. The 5.5" seemed very awkward to use, and I don't consider it to be a "premium experience". I see people keep mentioning the bigger battery, but what many aren't realizing is that the bigger battery is needed to power the larger screen and all those pixels, so you probably won't notice a huge difference in overall battery life between the two models. Doesn't seem to be a performance difference between the two, although some people who got to preview them said the the 4.7 felt a little smoother for some reason. OIS isn't a selling point for me. So basically my decision came down to screen size and almost identical specs.

Also, can't even imagine how heavy the 6+ will feel, especially with a case.

Fair enough.

So do I, but I do believe they raised a fair point. Given that certain reviews I've seen from Anandtech with phones implementing OIS, the differences haven't always been as vast or good as one might expect. However, it might stand corrected here.

6+ 128. I use my 5s heavily (hours a day) as a portable computer for work and play, not so much for phone calls. I need the larger screen (zoom mode) so I can read without reading glasses during the day and have more real estate at night (nearsighted so, I can see screen easily then without contacts. TMI? Sorry! :) ).

In *any* case, if it really ends up being too large, I can swap it for a 6 easily based on the way supplies look now. But every time I see the shot of the three phones together, the 6 doesn't look enough larger than my 5s to be worth it. That's my opinion, of course!

As has been said, MR should be hopping next weekend when many of us have the phones in our hands and we have some real-world experience!

6 plus for me! I do think its huge but will hold my judgement for when its in my hand. If it feels anything like the iPod touch i will be pretty happy. That device is just great to hold!

I could have sworn that when the 5 came out, this board was awash with people flailing around about 4" being too small.

At any rate, I love the size of my 4S, but I also want to maximize all of the neat ways that iOS 8 will let my Apple devices play together, so an upgrade was needed. And since I wanted a device that would have iOS support for as long as possible, I compromised on my preferred size by ordering the smaller of the two newest models.

I haven't ordered as I'm trying my line luck on Friday. I'm a lil surprised that so many people are getting the smaller version. Hmm interesting

6 4.7 I'm actually tired of big phones being a previous owner of the Note 2 and currently the HTC One M8
