Hey Mr. Cook, Why no iPhone 6c?

"We lost a lot of money on that. We thought we could rip off customers by selling a $600 cheap plastic version of our nice phones, but no one would buy them."

on a side note. I was in an Apple store a month ago and saw someone trying to get their 5c fixed due to a fall just about destroying the whole thing. They didn't have applecare + and the macgeek was like "it will cost you $300+ to fix it" the person was very mad lol

Wrong refresh year. Maybe when the 6S rolls out.

I think people generalized it would be a cheap phone. At no time did apple state that.

They also learned from dominating 5s sales that, yes people will pay enormous amounts of $$ for their phones.

The 5C did pretty well, actually. It was the 5th best selling smartphone in 2013.

The most likely reason is that they didn't want to juggle so many models. They usually have two models - last year and this year.

If they had introduced a '6C' they would have had the 5S, 5C, 6, 6C and 6+. Too many.

I can't even begin to think of the logistics behind all those combinations if they released all those models... ACK

I'm confident the only reason they introduced the 5c is so that the "old" phone looks different than the new phone during an S cycle. Since the 5s and 6 have different designs, there was no need for a 6c. We may see one next year (though I'd really prefer if they just stopped doing the S models)

Well the 5C is the 5, right? Putting plastic on the back doesn't really change it.

So we got the iPhone 5 in 2012 for $199
Then again in 2013 for $99
And now in 2014 for $0

That's exactly the same as how the iPhone 4S, 4, and 3GS all worked. Nothing's changed.
