Hey everyone,

I saw there are a lot of factory unlocked iPhone 6 to be bought on eBay.
The owners say they will ship it on this Friday.

My question is how is this possible, since no provider ships out unlocked iPhone yet?

Wrong

All iPhones sold on apple.ca are unlocked and work with any gsm carrier

Apple sells unlocked contract-free phones

The contract free one listed as "T-Mobile" on their site is unlocked. The Verizon ones are also unlocked.

The ebay sales are for their standing in line on the 19th, though they don't say that.

What they do is sell any Apple phone 6/6+, any size, any color. Then they promise to ship out as soon as they have it.

They designate that the buyer gets to choose the size and color.

So it's a bit illegal if you ask me, they are selling property they don't have already. They are "scalping." Usually the target buyer is over seas.

This puts the seller at risk. Look at the seller's reputation. Their track record is too small to be of any trustworthy value.

thank you guys! This made a lot of sense now.

But I don't think that T-mobile contract-free phones are unlocked.
Anyone has a firm confirmation?

I can confirm 100% that the T-Mobile 5s that I bought direct from Apple last September has been unlocked from day one.

Any phone purchased from APPLE at an APPLE STORE or on the Apple website is UNLOCKED as soon as you turn it on the first time, as long as you pay full price.

Pay a penny under full price? It's locked.

Apple's GSX profile for the phone has two options: locked or unlocked. Pay full price? Buy a Verizon phone? Buy in a country that requires unlocked phones? The GSX profile is UNLOCKED.

That's it. No secrets, no big deal.

BTW, want to buy an unlocked iPhone 6 128gb gold? :)

Looks like I'm gonna have two extra 128gb 6's as well. Deciding whether to sell them or return...
