I just read and laugh. The people make those comments are usually trolls who don't even intend on purchasing

C'mon, have some compassion for these people. With the introduction of a 4.7" iPhone then they've just eaten several buckets of crow and their upset tummies have made them cranky.

Think about it. These people spent the last 6 years slamming their friends for their unusably big Android screens, and now they've got to walk in with their 4.7" iPhone. (And they have absolutely no defense because, unlike the 6+ which actually includes extra UI functions to accommodate its screen, the 6 is just a scaled up bigger iPhone. You know, the one they said would never happen...)

What? Slamming friends? Comparing p**** sizes? Walk in where? Defend what? I hate humanity and your post makes no sense

People seem insistent on justifying their choices by attacking/belittling others choices. Nothing new.

I can halfway understand the Apple vs Samsung debates. My brother and I get into those fairly often (always lighthearted though). What I don't get is people bashing others because they got a 6/6+. What does it matter? I don't care that you got a 6. If that's the one that you wanted and that works for you, then awesome. You shouldn't care that I got the 6+ because that just happened to be what I wanted and what works for me. There is nothing wrong with you picking whichever one that you picked.

I personally believe that the people that are insulting others' choices are insecure about the choice that they made. If you were happy with what you bought, you wouldn't need to put down other people's choices.

That being said, we are all in the Apple family. We should be banding together to fight the smartphone war against Samsung. All of this 6/6+ fighting is distracting us from the true enemy. ;)

some people when confronted with a choice need group acceptance of their choice and the comfort offered by the putting down the other choice - to justify their own choice.

When there is no choice involved, there will be no need to seek that social cushion.

Here's the difference between most iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users:

iPhone 6 users:
- Respect the choice that 6 Plus users made
- Know they are missing features like OIS, 1080p HD, better battery
- Still chose the iPhone 6 because of the portability and screen size

iPhone 6 Plus users:
- Think iPhone 6 users can't afford the iPhone 6
- Think iPhone 6 users are impatient and just wanted to get a phone quicker
- Think they can change someone's opinion
- Justify their choice with excuses like "I always typed with 2 hands, I'll get this new pouch when I workout, I'll buy this new phablet mount for my car."

We must be looking at different threads. I'm seeing more threads made about why the 6 was the better choice over the 6 plus, even going so far as to say the 6 plus buyers are going to return for 6's as soon as they realize how stupid they look walking around with a 6 plus.

I've only been a member here for a year, but I've been lurking here since the iPhone 3. Year after year I've seen posts attacking members for their choices, but this year the attacks really have me scratching my head. It's so odd, I thought we were all here (except the trolls) because we love Apple products, or at least here in this sub forum because we love Apple iPhones. The attacks I'm seeing this year are almost as vicious as the Apple vs. Android attacks that you see going on all over the internet. The attacks here are going both ways, they are definitely not the 6 plus buyers only attacking the 6 buyers.

People have different needs. Lets just respect that. For example, I like to jog and I have an ipad, I therefore have no need at all for a Phablet. However a large sceren is always nice, so if I didnt have an iPad perhaps the 6+ is what I would have gone with.

I agree with that wholeheartedly, but for some reason the "criticism" seems to be aimed at 5.5" buyers ("You'll regret it", "You'll be returning that on day 1", "You don't realise how HUGE it is", etc.

I don't think I've seen anything the other way round.

Just for clarity, I'm absolutely NOT saying that all 4.7" owners/posters behave this way, just that it seems to me that the, shall we say, provocative threads all seem to directed at the supposed "regret" or "remorse" that the folks that have pre ordered a 5.5" will feel, posted by people who have pre ordered a 4.7".

I don't get it, I really don't get it and if I'm honest, it has (for me) taken the edge off of what is normally a bonkers, but hugely enjoyable, run up to launch day.

I agree. There seems to be as many threads insulting people who got a 6+ as there are threads insulting people for getting the 6. It seems to be coming from both sides. And like I said before, what's the point? I think people are trying to justify their own purchase my insulting the purchase of others. All that matters is that you are happy with what you bought. If not, return it for the other. There is no reason to start WW3 over the thing. I love iPhones so I will happily argue with a Samsung user over why my phone is better, but I will not argue over why my 6+ os better than someone else's 6. I have better things to do with my time...like obsessively checking my tracking to see where my phone is now.

I've seen maybe two threads about iPhone 6 users stating why they chose an iPhone 6 and one thread asking why if 6 Plus users will return their phones.

This is nothing compared to all the stuff most 6 Plus users are throwing at the wall, trying to see what sticks.

I've literally seen threads from 6 Plus insulting 6 members for:
-being stupid
-being poor
-being impatient
-being informed

There's still some rational people (6 users/6+ users/even some Android users) but most users in MR just have to much ego and really just want to feel better about themselves.

The more people argue to justify their selection, the more committed they are to that choice. Not sure if it's intentional, but Apple probably consciously made this a difficult choice to cement people's transition over to the larger screens.

While people are arguing or stressing over which larger size, they completely forgot that they were saying smaller screens were perfectly fine just two weeks ago. It's like a magic trick; misdirection and distractions.

See what I mean? Silly season. People throwing out strawmen, empty smears, criticism based on imagination not reality... this is completely standard for September. Roll with it and laugh at the mayhem because posts like the one above? They carry exactly zero weight.

I think the iPhone is a more personal device, it's true, which means it is somewhat tied to our personality.

Honestly, though, I think the bigger reason is that there is a lot more uncertainty this time around, with two sizes to choose from.

Those who ordered the 6+ are a little worried that they made the wrong choice, and that it might be too big, and that they'll look bad with it, whatever.

Those who ordered the 6 are a little worried they might be missing out. Maybe the performance will be better on the 6+, the battery life would be nice, and maybe the 6+ will be a better "status symbol" than the 6 over time.

Either way, this uncertainty causes some people to justify their choice by bashing the other choice, even though that is pretty much the most childish way of dealing with things in the entire world.

This is something Apple has always tried to avoid. They are great at making decisions for what they think is best and just putting it out there. Remember when the iPhone was only black, with a few choices in storage? Things were a lot easier then. :D

Nevertheless, I ordered the 6, because I just don't want the bigger size. I'd love the battery life, OIS, etc. but I run with my phone, and I like it really portable. On the other hand, I definitely won't bash anyone's choice to go with the 6+. I can ABSOLUTELY see why they would. It's fantastic, and the upgrades are awesome. But it's just not for me. So what? Everyone enjoy your new phone, and I hope we are all really happy with them.

I just went to Verizon and checked out the Note 3. It's big. Not unfathomably big, but big. It's "no case" big. I also checked out some of the rubber cases for the iPhone 6 (non-plus). They make the 6 big. I won't be using a case with my iPhone 6.

I'm not saying that I'd never get a 5.5" iPhone.... just that it doesn't seem to be for me, right now. I certainly wouldn't hate on anyone for choosing it, that's insane. I care as much about what size iPhone some random person on the internet wants as I do about whether you like ketchup, mustard, or both on a hot dog.
