Hi there,

I can't decide if I should get MBP with dGPU or not.

I mainly use Safari, Plex, Parallels Desktop, Web Development, AutoCAD, Casual gaming, video conversion

My two options are

The $1999 model with CPU upgrade (2.8GHz) or $2499 (No upgrades)

Thanks :)

If you care about gaming at all I'd say the dGPU is worth it. It wont really impact your battery life when you're not using graphically intensive applications anyway and it will be a far larger boost to the machines performance than the CPU upgrade in my opinion.

AutoCad may benefit from the dGPU.

The 2.8GHz upgrade isn't really worth it, unless you render or encode videos for hours.

Adobe Media encoder uses the dGPU. If the $500 won't break the bank, it's worth it. The extra HDD space will be very valuable to you in the future.
