Hey,

Now before I start I'm not asking which is generally better for no reason.

I have an iPod Touch 4G and was thinking about getting the 5G.

So my question is, is it safe to buy a 5G? A few reasons why I'm not sure...

  • I want the Apple Watch when it is released
  • I already have an iPod Touch 4G (which I'd sell if I got the 5G)
  • Would it even work if say iOS9 came out?
  • Do you think Apple could end up bringing out the iPod Touch 6G soon?

So any advice? I'm not asking which is simply better because they're two different devices for two types of tasks, my question is, is it a good idea to get a 5G now? I'd sell my 4G to help pay for it.

I have other apple devices, an iPhone 5s to name one which serves me perfectly. The problem is that I use it a lot and the battery gets drained so I was thinking having a iPod Touch for media consumption like social networking and music and then taking out my iPhone when my iPod Touch goes down.

Any thoughts on this? Just looking for some advice.

The iPod Touch does support iOS8, the GM is available in the Dev Centre. Is that a typo which should of read iOS9 by any chance?

Either way you're probably right. Anyone else have an opinion to share?

Just want to see what others have to say. I'm curious about this.

It's driving me crazy this choice.

It's most likely that the A5 will only support up to iOS 8. I'd just wait a few months for the new iPod.
I'd also look into a non contract good phone like the Moto G 2, if you wanna experiment in Android b

Wait 1 month to see if Touch 6 would be announced along with new Ipad, if not then get the 5.

If i were you, i would just buy an extra lightning cable and powerbank if you afraid your phone would go out of battery. It make sense to get the new Touch if you currently own an Iphone 4/4s. Iphone 5s is a perfect stand alone device.

You might as well wait till the announcements in October.
