I currently have an AppleTV 2 jailbroken. The main reason I have held onto it is that the way I watch movies is having them stored on my Time Capsule, and with Infuse app I am able to point my ATV to the network drive on Time Capsule to play movies. The only thing I know of without this would be to convert all my movies to iTunes format (annoying), store them on a PC, then that PC has to be turned on and running anytime I want to watch a movie with Apple TV (super annoying).

Are there any solutions that will work just like this, or very close? I'd prefer to move to a newer Apple TV and get the newer software, this is literally the only reason I have the jailbroken ATV2.

XBMC is the most popular app to watch movies from a computer or NAS.

Right, but I was looking to see if there was any possible way to do this via an Apple TV that doesn't require jailbreaking so that I can update to the latest model.
