Hey Folks, my iphone 6 battery is really disappointing. Dunno if its maybe whatsapp specific.
Just unplugged it and Texted a bit and the battery rushed down to 94%.

Could someone whos also using whatsapp a Lot verify this?

That is battery usage from the last 24 hours (not since unplugged). Therefore, it just means that you used Whatsapp a lot in the previous 24 hours. Not that it ate the battery down to 94%.

that does not seem to bad 44 minutes of usage for 6%, if you get that average you will get 10-12hours of usage for a full charge

Whatsapp is eating up my iPhone 6's battery !

Strange thing is, i didn't really use it that much. It certainly wasnt 40 Minutes of Screen on Time. And when the screen is on I can watch the percentage go down.

Edit: Right now while texting this short post it dropped from 93 to 91.

Coming from a iPhone 5 to 6 (both 64gb) I've found battery life to be very impressive - this was from earlier today (after not charging it last night)

I'm facing the same issue. I've only owned my iPhone 6 for two days, but I also already noticed this. My WhatsApp has used 25% the last 24 hours. Also my WhatsApp often says that it's connecting (to the server I suppose?), it could be that this has something to do with it? Has anyone already found a solution to this problem? It's really bugging me out...

What's app is a famous battery killer. It has to keep checking to see if there are any new messages. Nothing new

Are you on multiple groups with many people? That would be reason for that high usage. You could also try to change the notifications from whatsapp and see if that helps.

I remember Ping chat, that app literally took 1% per message on my iPhone 3Gs.. But hey, it was free texts :)

Apps that constantly send/receive data will kill your battery quite quick.

Whatsapp is eating up my iPhone 6's battery!

I expect a "simple" messaging app used by millions of people everyday to not be a battery hog like it seems to be.

I've switched background refresh off by the way ...

WhatsApp is renowned for being a battery killer... you have to kill the app with multitasking; just having the app in the background with nothing running will still drain the battery...

your simple messaging app sends data to their servers on a regular basis, which eats up battery.
