Oct. 1 to 6 2014 Delivery Date Orders (Update) Delivered earlier!

I am so very happy that the phone will arrive on the 25th - its my birthday and all but I am mostly just happy to be done with this process - staying up late waiting on departure scans, waking up early to check arrival/departure/import scans - I am so very tired - no, nobody made me do it - I have enjoyed the anticipation and thrill of the chase, but I am still quite tired at this point and ready for a nap! Think I will take Thursday off and try and sleep until the doorbell rings! Lord knows I am not getting much work done as it is!
 
Finally left Louisville...... let's all hope UPS can find my office building, shall we? that Apple didn't mess up the order.... it has happened...

First you had an estimated "Delivery Date".

Then you had a shipment notification. The shipment notification is not a "NEW Promise", it's a notice that your phone shipped.

Mine shipped, but it said "Standard Shipping".

UPS lists it as "UPS Worldwide Expedited". When I look that up it says, "Delivery within four or five business days from Europe, Asia, and Latin America".

Now, I this may seem complicated, but if I take the Shipped notification and factor in "Standard Shipping" and look at UPS's delivery information, I can expect that my estimated delivery date from UPS of Thursday is probably pretty darn accurate.

Would I like it sooner? Sure, but I'm not upset if it's not here sooner. Seems pretty clear to me.

I fail to see how UPS stating on their website "Delivered by today" for several days is anything but clear..

Flights from Anchorage to Louisville (UPS 81, 61, and 109) have all been delayed. Could this possibly be to accommodate for all of the flights that are arriving later tonight into Anchorage from Incheon? I don't think they could make it for delivery tomorrow, as landing in Anchorage would already be close to Midnight EST.. Which isn't favorable.

#Team520, I'm guessing expect arrival to KY tonight, but we're going to get stuck there until tomorrow. Delivery Thursday. Unless somehow UPS pulls through which hasn't happened yet in over 300 pages of discussion..

I'm Team 520 but I was bumped to Friday yesterday.

But the naysayers say that no phones can possibly leave today because it's a conspiracy! I guarantee that when I get home from work tonight the majority of you will have a departure from Louisville with a Wednesday delivery. Like I said before, just hope I'm not one of the ones left behind. lol

I did that, but it shows all of the Customer Centers / Hubs near me, but doesn't specify which one it would fly into. I supposed it isn't really a big deal though, as long as they keep up with their scans :/

But if I were in your position, I don't know that I would use such strong words ;)


Sorry for the heat you are taking. Thanks for keeping us informed of the general practices of UPS and shipping.

Listen to yourself. This entire thread was for people who had estimated delivery dates (from Apple) of Oct 1-6. It's still ******** September, and all of our phones are almost here.

You sure? There have already been dozens that have gotten import scans since this morning and several who said their phones just departed Louisville.

I'm wondering if the people who aren't getting their import scans are the ones who don't have an airport that's being serviced by the flight list this afternoon. Maybe we do have to wait for the morning flights out. For instance, there was a KSDF to KPIT flight this morning but there isn't one this afternoon.
 
I give up. I've resigned to the fact that my iPhone is NOT going to arrive today, or tomorrow. UPS is keeping their "promise" to deliver it on 9/25. It will arrive when it arrives.

Funny that "expedited" in UPS is not the same as the dictionary definition: "make (an action or process) happen sooner or be accomplished more quickly."

Why does that matter tho? I mean it was really a matter of not leaving us behind and they totes could've got us delivered tomorrow, unless that would bottleneck something like KY.

I wonder if they deliberately withhold shipments while they are still far away so as not to cause insanity at every point when they do arrive.

What are you talking about a large number of phones that have been imported will leave today. But its not the amount that you have claimed for 50 pages. You keep saying 90% of the shipments from last night will leave by 5PM and will be delivered tomorrow.

It was looking that way last night and early this morning, but something changed today thats causing that not to be the case. Whether its the large number of shipments or customs just being slow. Its pretty clear that the majority of shipments that were scheduled for Thursday will in fact be delivered Thursday and not Wednesday.

October was Apple's extremely rough estimate. Once UPS got it, it their responsibility to deliver in a timely manner. UPS does not seem capable of delivering this many orders at once in a timely manner. For future launches, Apple should contract both UPS and Fedex to share the load equally.

Ha! I you sleep until the bell rings, I'd suggest sleeping on the porch so the UPS driver will trip over you: I'd hate for you to not hear the bell. :)
 
So zero 9/25 delivery import scans yet if I'm correct? Clearly they have been set aside before customs due to delivery date.
