title says it all if anyone care. Update back to 8.0 if you have a computer nearby.
DON'T FORGET TO BACK UP!
1) Disable "Find my iPhone": Settgins -> iCloud -> Find My iPhone -> turn it off
(this works in WIFI areas only, if you have no wifi, you may need to do a DFU restore, instructions at the bottom. You shouldn't have to with an update)
2) Delete the 8.0.1 update if present: Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage -> then look for the iOS update and delete it
3) Download the firmware (direct apple links):

4 MAC) After downloading, on a MAC, you have to hold the ALT/OPTION and select update to bring up the option to select the older firmware.
4 WINDOWS) Hold SHIFT if using WINDOWS and select UPDATE to bring up the option to select the older firmware.
Fix confirmed working.
DFU Restore (some from iClarified)
1) Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.
2) Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
3) After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
4 MAC) Restore the firmware by selecting ALT/Option and Restore.
4 WINDOWS) Restore the firmware by selecting Shift and Restore.
