How do we know he didn't open the phone beforehand and sabotage the internals to make it appear to bend more easily?

he is canadian i think..last video was him downtown toronto showing it to ppl bending it uncut on video . i work dt too and recognized location

a normal person doesn't bend phone with that much force let alone try to bend it. common sense
time to move on to enjoying my ip+6

he's a youtube view whore. all for the money. don't feed this unbox troll.

Get bent man (pun intended). This person is upset their phone is blemished. Can it happen when hitting the corner of a table to all phones? Sure. Is it a fault in the iphone 6? not necessarily. But the debate is about a weak spot in the phone that will expose this easier than with other phones. Calling someone a troll for concern over this shows your true bias.

The sad thing is this guys posts just show who the real troll is...

serious question......can you explain how you make money on youtube videos? this guy is making money off the millions of views hes getting on this bs bending issue?

There is an option to monetize your videos.

Youtube inserts ads into your videos, and they give you a cut of the ad money they make.

Some famous youtubers make hundreds of thousands of dollars every year just from their cut of the ad revenue.

If you go into your youtube account settings, there is an option to monetize.

It's probably pennies for every view, but if you can get millions of views, that all ads up.

This guy looks like he does this professionally (i.e. full time).

I'm not grasping the apologist argument. Are you saying its impossible to bend a piece of thin metal? Now with all the media buzz its hard to find an iPhone 6+ in an Apple store that isn't bent from jackasses trying to bend them.

Also now consumer reports did a bit of testing. Found the iPhone 6 easier to bend then the iPhone 5 (90lbs vs 130lbs) and there were PLENTY of documented cases of bent iPhone 5s. So statistically speaking there will be just as many if not more bent iPhone 6s.

BTW the amount of force people can apply with their hands/thumbs and arms especially using leverage wildly varies can FAR exceed the 90 lbs that consumer reports tested. Hell I have hand grip (exercise tool) that is 70 lbs and thats for ONE HAND.

Please explain to me why he states that the iPhone is all new with sealing but when he turns it on he doesn't have to go through the setup steps. If he would have to convince more people he would have to unbox the iPhone and then break it. It is totally his own fault that he allows his videoes to have these questionable things in his videos.

I've seen a video where a journalist tried to bend the new iPhone 6+ and even though he used a lot of preasure he didn't bend it. Of course when you produce about what 10,000,000 phones some of them will have some production errors. I still want to see more people complaining about the phone before I conclude that there is a general problem.

That's what I was thinking... Tampered it, I hate that troll

Where's the proof that he faked the bending?

It's perfectly normal to make cuts in your videos and it doesn't imply fraud - on the contrary, it infers he's honest by not constantly changing the time on the phone to make it appear uncut.

Business Insider is trying to make a non-story out of a non-story. And the less mature Apple fans with their conspiracy theories are eating it all up.

Last time I checked business insider is more legit than loutroll

Maybe I'm not understanding something here, but the BI article states that the time on the phone is 2:26 PM and then later is 1:58 PM. Unless I'm missing something that is simply not true. The lock screen clock doesn't show AM or PM. It is entirely plausible that he shot the first part at 2:26 AM and the other part later at 1:58 PM. I don't necessarily think that is what happened though. Unless he went to other lengths with camera trickery the part where he bends the phone in his hands seems real.

Even if his video was faked, the iPhone Plus's do still seem to have a bending issue. I doubt it was a collaborated fake across the nation. He may have piggy backed on other uses who reported bending, but it did start with other normal uses who even posted pictures of bent phones. Basic logic says if aluminum bends, it's not going to bend back naturally like plastic. Unbox being fake or not, aluminum bending makes sense, logically.

All I'm saying is that if Unbox is fake, it doesn't mean some sort of issue doesn't exist.

I'm not saying it is fake just that it doesn't promotes his case that he makes a follow up video where he states that due to speculations of the video being fake he makes a new one with a new iPhone that is still sealed but obviously set up.

I think we can conclude that there might be some problems with the iPhone 6+ bending but I don't think that it is as big of a problem as the media states it is. At least where I live, if you have a legit problem with your iPhone, as I had with my iPhone 5's battery, you'd just get a new one. And this was before the whole battery problem program. I believe you'd get a new one if the iPhone suddently bends from normal use.

Yup, hard to find one that isn't bent.

So, obviously, the YouTube guy faked his video. Lmao idiots

I cant believe all of you here accusing the guy of faking the bending. I might as well accuse all you paranoid fools to either grow up/get a life/get a job. The phone bends if enough force is applied, its physics. Yes you wont put so much force in one go but with time, when you have the phone in your front pocket everyday, it will slowly bend - its not rocket science. I trust the videos.

Just chill out and get yourself AppleCare+/strong case.

Well that's what I said to begin with... The iphone 6 series I s a fantastic piece of tech. Quite a marvel to engineer to be honest. But these youtube clowns are exploiting it for their greed. Yes it's not a miracle device that defies the law is physics for F sake. Thank you. Lulz
