For Newer MacBook Pros...

I will eventually need a larger drive for my late 2013 MBP. Is a 1TB+ version being planned for the later 2013 and 2014 MBPs?

I'm honestly torn between upgrading to a newer rMBP next year or upgrading my current lappy with one of these. They seem to be getting lots of praise.

I think 2013 models use PCIe SSD's not SATA.

yes,it is PCIe 4X SSD,here is adapter to PCI-e 4x for your reference: 2013 MacBook Pro +Air SSD to PCI-e 4X adapter card

Transcend JetDrive 725 and Yosemite

Any info on compatibility between JetDrive and Yosemite vis a vis Trim enabler?

I'm saving my pennies for a 960GB drive to replace the 256GB in my late 2012 15" MBPr.

Hoping for a "sale" price ($500+/-) and reassurance that it will be fully compatible with OS10.10...

^^^^Well, not first hand experience, not yet. But I don't expect it to be a problem. In addition to my MBA, I have a 5,1 Mac Pro. I have two Samsung SSDs (with Apricorn PCIe SATAIII interface cards) installed in my Mac Pro running Yosemite. TRIM is enabled, and Trim is working on both drives. The latest version of TRIM Enabler that has been optimized to work with Yosemite is V3.2.6.

Hi,
I have a 2011 MBA and am looking at getting either the 480GB or 960GB Transcend SSD.
At the moment I am leaning towards the 960GB model, I assume that both sizes of the SSD generate the same heat, would that be right?
As I haven't heard many people comment on any temperature differences they have noticed after the upgrade. (my MBA gets warm at the moment so I hope the new SSD isn't any warmer)

So now am just trying to decide if i go ahead and order or wait a bit in case amazon has a sale :)

I talk about heat in my Review Post #204 back on Page 9.

Edit - The Transcend drive seems to run color than the OWC drive. When feeling the bottom of my MBA where the SSD is mounted, the area while warm, is not as warm as it was with the OWC unit.

Anyone know if Transcend JetDrive Toolbox 1.8 works with the final release of Yosemite 10.10? It's dated Sep 25, 2014, and they mentioned they would release a Yosemite compatible version when the final release came out.

^^^^IMHO, I wouldn't use it. Cindori has kept Trim Enabler Up To Date, and it works so well, that I can't think of a reason not to use it.

Hello together,
I am new here and just registered for this thread because I saw some Transcend workers around.
I also have the JD 720 960GB in my MBP Retina 2012 (yes I was one of the lucy ones where it fitted).
I really like the overall performance but since I installed it (made a 1 by 1 copy of my old SSD in recovery mode) I also encounter the heavy delay (up to 10 seconds) until I can log in when waking my MBP up from sleep.
I set it as primary boot device, enabled trim and installed a newer firmware but this problem still presists.
By now I even consider completely reinstalling everything since I read this would help. But this also means a lot of work.
So I would be very happy if anyone had a solution for this problem.

Regards

Fennek

I just ordered the 960GB for my MBA 11" mid 2011. Am so looking forward to the bigger drive (current one is 256gb).

I will have to run some speed tests before hand to record my current drive so I can compare.

I'm pretty certain that you'll love it. I went from 128GB to 960GB on my 11" 2021 MBA and never looked back!

Delivering today...

I'm excited to be getting my Transcend JetDrive 240GB drive today... I've been "living" with the 64GB drive on my MBA and that drive is a pretty serious limitation. Even with no data - I mean none - I have no more than 10 gb free. And just using the machine - some of that is temporarily inaccessible. Often I've been left with 500 *MEG* free... which is dangerous. I also have an MBP with 256GB... which I've learned to live with (hd size)... I think bringing the MBA to 240 will give me a nice backup machine and a powerful and SMALL fully functioning machine.

----------

Possibly should have gotten a larger drive.

Cindori Trim Enabler also worked for me.
Transcend JetDrive 720 960 GB in MBP Retina 2012, Samsung 840 EVO 128 GB in Mac mini 2012.

I'm not sure what this post is trying to say. Would or wouldn't use it?

I have a late 2010 MBA with a Transcend JetDrive. TrimEnabler has stopped working since installing Yosemite. I redownloaded the Toolbox, still not working.

He means not to use the Transcend Toolbox Trim Enabler but use the Cindori Trim Enabler instead since it works with Yosemite.
