Is 2 GB RAM now imminent on the iPhone 6S?

The frustrating thing is that Apple is going to put 2GB of RAM in the next iPad Air to prepare for multitasking. Great...but that kind of gives the shaft to the iPhone 6 (especially the 6+) that would also have hugely benefited from multitasking and the extra RAM it requires.
