It's called 'Normal'.
why are the reviews for it so shoddy?

i see that everyone else is close to 3000 full charge capacity, but i only have 2800. do you think they will give me trouble if i try to claim that my battery sucks?

I have gone through EVERY SINGLE BATTERY OPTIMIZATION IN THE BOOK.
also your links are broken
----------
Mine says it has 2900. Maybe this is the reason our numbers suck
You can always go to the Apple store and have a genius take a look at it. Most likely they will run a quick test diagnostic and they will show you where your battery is currently at. If it shows Green, they will likely not replace it. If it shows in the orange/yellow area or in the red zone, they may replace it.
I was there last night for something at the genius and while I was there, I asked the genius to run a diagnostic on my battery because I did notice a battery drain but I told her that after I did a factory reset that it fixed my draining issue but I just wanted to see if there was anything wrong. She ran the quick test diagnostic and she showed me on the graph that I was on the Green zone (100%). So clearly for me there was something running that I couldn't figure out what was running that was draining my battery so quickly.
This is what mine shows:
Battery
CycleCount: 0
DesignCapacity: 2855
FullChargeCapacity: 3100
Status: Success
BatteryCurrentCapacity: 100
BatteryIsCharging: false
ExternalChargeCapable: true
ExternalConnected: true

Of course it's a brand new one so I have to use it a while to see what happens.
you have 3100 battery capacity compared to my 2800...i think if anyone has less than 2855, then they should be granted an exchange....but thats jsut me...i paid full price unlocked from my phone and i expect everything to be working 100%. your 3100 capacity is obviously going to show up green. i just dont know how bad my battery has to be to turn up orange/yellow
As I said you can still take it to the Apple store, have the genius run the test, even at 2800 it would show it in green range. If you aren't satisfied, then yes you can just do a return and get another one. Also the actual design capacity for the 6 Plus is 2915 MaH. Not 2855.
Also keep in mind that battery does fluctuate. I've noticed this on my macbook, especially when looking at coconut battery, the mah for the full charge capacity does go up and down. I'm pretty sure all lithium-ion based battery does that.
you are right about the battery fluctuating, i have experienced that on both my macs as well
i just checked my battery status, and it looks like went up from 2800 to now 2900:
Battery
CycleCount: 15
DesignCapacity: 2855
FullChargeCapacity: 2900
Status: Success
BatteryCurrentCapacity: 24
BatteryIsCharging: true
ExternalChargeCapable: false
ExternalConnected: true
FullyCharged: false
GasGaugeCapability: true
i contacted apple and they told me to do a clean install and to not use a back up files. i will try this when 8.1 comes out and hopefully my battery performance will be better. today i got 3 hours 43 mins of usage and my battery went from 100 to 33%. granted, i was using google maps for 1 hour, so that is understandable.
I quickly went over the previous pages to see whether someone mentioned "network coverage" or not. Looks like not, so my question to you is that do you live in an area where the signal strength is poor or constantly switching between 4G/3G/LTE/what have you. It helps drain your battery pretty well.
This seems like just a software issue, but I haven't noticed my phone doing that between Verizon LTE and 3G
