Yosemite causing MS Word 2008 to crash with Track Changes

Hey folks,
I downloaded Yosemite today and now I cannot open any word documents that are tracking changes for editing purposes. I have opened the document on another computer, saved it with unchecking "Reveal markup" and I can open the document now, but I need to be able to see the edits from tracking changes.

Any ideas what could be causing this? It was fine yesterday, so has to be related to updating to Yosemite.

Help... :)

It's likely an incompatibility with Office 2008. Microsoft no longer updates that version of Office. Because of this, it may have bugs or problems with newer versions of Mac OS X.
