MBPr '12 = Trackpad no longer works and Keyboard is laggy and unusable.

I was using my computer as usual and suddenly the keyboard became very laggy and letters wouldn't register and then the trackpad became completely unresponsive. I can use external keyboards, mouses and bluetooth just fine but not convenient for a $2000 laptop.

I have tried the SMC reset, the PRAM reset, turning off of wifi/bluetooth. Pretty much every solution on Google I have tried. I noticed there was an update on Mavericks that apparently fixed this issue but now that I am on Yosemite, it won't let me use it.

Any other advice I can try or should I take it into the Genius Bar. I have a year left of Apple Care.
