Am I missing something? I thought Yosemite was supposed to enable iDevice to Mac sharing via AirDrop... I have AirDrop open in finder and set to everyone on my iPad. What am I doing wrong because neither will register the other device.

Is it working for anyone else right now?

Just did back & forth between iPhone 5S and Mac Mini 2012. Working great.
Did pics both ways. An 800 page pdf to the phone was 2 seconds, but it was only 3.2m. Using the share icon on the mac didn't work, but drag and drop in the airdrop window did. Guessing 8.1 might solve the issue.

Have you got one of:
  • MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)*
  • MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)*
  • iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
As these are the only models that support Airdrop to iOS :(
