Anyone remember the buzz in 2012-13 about the Noot T5 for the iPhone 5/5S?

31WCqNXeYgL._SS400_.jpg

It was a slim matte opaque black TPU case that covered all sides, had no lip, and was finished surprisingly well for a $5 case. Amazon was selling them for 99 cents as an add on at one point. For me it was the perfect case.

I can't find anything like it for the 6.

Looking for

-opaque black
-matte finish with no grippy dots, no superfluous ridges, shiny contrast stripes, etc...clean simple lines.
-covers the bottom with precision cutouts. no flappy port covers.
-thicker than the camera protrusion
-a lip over the screen edge is ok, but prefer none.

It seems impossible to find.

HERE'S THE CONTEST!

For the first person to find a case that fits the bill as spelled out above, from a reliable seller at a reasonable price, I'll buy you one too! I reserve the right not to like your suggestion, for any reason I didn't think of above. I will send the case to any US address.

Diztronic. Fits all your requirements for $10. Has a small lip though.

Or the ringke slim.

I also used a Noot case everyday on my iPhone 5 and 5s. They make one for the 6 and I think 6+ but it doesn't cover the whole phone. The bottom, and volume buttons are open. I want one that covers everything.

Just saw this in another thread. Looks pretty close.

I got the Insignia case from Best Buy...it's pretty thin ($16) and a tempered glass screen protector from eBay for like $3

Yeah the Insignia is close, but I tried one at BB and it's deceptively bulky. It also has a noticeably sharp mould seam all around it, not by design, but from crappy QC. And a fat lip that really inhibits swiping.

The current Noot case is also hard plastic, not TPU. I wrote them to ask about a T5 for the 6 and actually got a reply saying maybe, but I'm not holding my breath.

Diztronic has a kooky beveled edge on the front and back. Ringke has a hole in the back. Hate that.

ringke has various models on that page that don't have a hole in the back too.

Here is one from maxboost. Not sure on the brand but it looks like it'll fit your requirements.

If only the Diztronic case followed the natural shape of the iPhone 6... Sigh...

I may still get a Diztronic case, but I'm basically looking for what you are, except with a lip is preferred.

Valiant effort guys! Sadly, each just misses the mark.

All I can think about is getting my beard caught in those cutaway corners!

No button protection. :(

Looks like maxboost has max thickness!

Actually... the KAYSCASE might be exactly what you and I are looking for.

So close! Hate "smoke". Want black. Also looks like it might be glossy around the lip.

I am constantly surprised by the lack of available cases for iPhones that are plain and understated. It's as if everyone who designs cases is stuck in some 1986 ethos of stripes and shiny bits and textures.

How about the switcheasy numbers? It's "stealth black" looks kinda like matte. Although I'm not sure how you feel about the port covers on the bottom.

Also amzer pudding really not sure on the glossy finish on the boarders and can't really tell what kind of finish that is on the back.
