It's not clear which Macbook you have. It runs on the 2008 Aluminum Unibody Macbook.

OS X Yosemite is compatible with the Aluminum 2008 MacBooks and the early 2009+ white MacBooks.

On all of the machines I have tried, Yosemite is as fast if not faster.

I am running it on a Late 2008 Alu, so far so good. I can even make and receive calls with it.

Question about Yosemite and on 2008-2010 Macbooks (unibody and aluminum only), what can we not do with Yosemite? I know we have the ability to do SMS Relay and Recieve/Make calls, can we do continuity also or no?

I installed Yosemite on my late-2009 unibody macbook. As it's a spare machine, I didn't care with performance losses. I think Yosemite is a minor improvement in relation to Mavericks. No new underlying improvement like RAM compression introduced in Mavericks.

Hey there - quick question: I was able to make/receive calls on my 2008 unibody when I was running the beta, but I seem to have lost the ability when I upgraded to the public release... can you confirm you're still able to make calls on the regular version?

My MacBook is 2008 Plastic Model. Is there any way to "hack" the installer for installing Yosemite / Mavericks on it?

Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4ghz
4gb RAM
500gb HDD
Intel GMA X3100 Integrated Graphic Processor

I've already installed 10.8 with MLPostFactor (cuz the most new version that's compatible with it is 10.7.5, so I had to use hacks to make it work)

Even if you get it running you most likely won't see good performance.
