About normal. This is mine with a MacBook Pro retina 8 GB memory and 128 GB SSD
I know but I watch the videos on you tube with the same Macbook and sam test and they all go around 450 write speed and 725 read speed and one even went 650 write speed. How come mine is lower
I've just run the speed test, 205 write / 550 read. It's an early 2014 13" Air, 4gb / 128gb.
Any idea why the speeds are lower than average? I've only had the machine for a week!
Just out of curiosity, can you check in
About this mac, more info, system report, storage, media name, and copy and paste the line?
Wondering what brand SSD you have in yours?

Not sure how you feel about exchanging your macbook, but it might be worth doing. On the other hand, there is no guarantee that the next one won't have the same SSD
I just wondered why the test showed my SSD as being slower than average, I can't say it's a deal breaker. Swapping it is impossible anyway as it was the only one with an English keyboard (I'm a Brit expat in Turkey).
Once replacement drives become available I'll be upgrading to a bigger one anyway, for now I'm enjoying not using Windows so am happy regardless.
