I am using an 11 inch MBA and have just upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks; however, now the fan never stops running----is there a problem??? Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you have some application or utility running that conflicts with Yosemite and is chewing up CPU cycles.

Open activity monitor and go to the CPU tab then sort by % and show us a screenshot.

You mean it's louder now? Because MBA fans don't stop unless the laptop is asleep or off.

Yes, I found out it was the Spotlight application that was updating because of the upgrade to Yosemite and using CPU----things are back to normal now. Thanks.
