I have this problem on a new Macbook Pro with Mavericks.
My wifi disconnects when the screen saver comes on, regardless of the power settings (from the GUI in System Settings).
I did some research and came up with this command which seems to work, but only once.
cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/Current/Resources
sudo ./airport en0 prefs DisconnectOnLogout=NO
I have put it in a bat file and can run it manually, but perhaps there is a setting to make the change permanent?
If anyone has a better solution, I would appreciate hearing about it.
