100%? Seriously? I'm not sure that's accurate.

That's exactly what Apple said during the keynote, though. Although just one person being unhappy with their iPad mini would nullify that statistic. Certainly a bold claim.

I guess it means the iPad mini has 100% customer satisfaction, on average.

The saying is 'I couldn't give a damn'. It means you could not give less of a damn if you tried, meaning you don't care. 'I could give a damn' means you do actually care about it.

Stop getting our English phrases wrong, you make them make no sense! >:-[

Stop being so pedantic over local phrases and demeaning anyone who doesn't type to your personal satisfaction.

Language changes, deal with it.

I posted a thread on this very topic. LMAO! Everyone trashed me and now we find out that my suspicions are not unfounded. *DEAD*

Ha! The only two (semi-)mobile devices I own are the Mini and the Touch. Bah!

Don't believe it.

iPad Mini was deemed the "perfect size" and "just right" by millions when it launched. This is still a hotcakes product and selling well, Apple is not going to drop it. This is more bunk than a pile of beans.

That's like Apple saying they are discontinuing the 21.5" iMac to focus on 27" and larger models....really???

Apple is more known to discontinue the LARGER model like the 17" MacBook Pro, not the smaller ones. Everything with Apple today is SMALLER - THINNER - LIGHTER ...and that is what they focus on. Not making larger things, but smaller and thinner and lighter ones. It's their fixation at the moment. Like, no more expandable tank Mac Pro tower, for instance.

Charging $100 for a fingerprint scanner and gold body color option doesn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling of its sales potential until the mini retina inventory sells out.

Seriously... that upgrade bump was a joke.

Not that it really helps, but there's more to it. They also included AppleSIM and the NFC processor chip - but without the antenna.

I think they should have upped the main processor though.

Story:
"Apple's "iPad Pro," which is said to be replacing the iPad mini as a companion to the iPad Air,"

That doesn't make any sense. The gigantic tablet will replace a small tablet as a companion to the Air.

I think the "top" and "bottom" speakers (in portrait mode) should have been done on all the iPads. Landscape video watching means sound only comes out one edge, making it functionally a monaural and less satisfactory experience for watching video.

Most likely this is a 3rd-hand rumor based on Apple focusing all R&D on the pro and just doing spec bumps on the mini, which is exactly what happened at the iPad event.

WTF?! Nooooooooooo!

The mini is the best screen size! Argh. Hope this aint true. The iPad mini 3 update was disappointing enough. This news, although a rumor would truly suck.

So just the air and a 12" ipad? No way. I refuse to believe it.

It's not about local phrasing, it's about making a phrase make absolutely no sense in the context you're saying it. It means the exact opposite of what you're trying to put across.

It's frustrating.

There is no scarcity of the resources needed to continue producing tablets in this very popular size. They can hire more engineers if needed. They can buy more production capacity if that's really an issue.

The iPod Touch hasn't been getting updates for the same reason the iPod Classic went so very long without them, and why the iPod Shuffle and Nano are largely ignored: because few people are buying them. The market no longer has an interest in pocket-sized devices that can't also be used as a phone: the iPod has become redundant, so spending R&D money on it is pointless.

But the iPad Mini is a different class of device: a tablet. People don't want to something that big to work as a phone (because they'd look like a dork using it that way). They want it as a lightweight portable computer, and a device of that sort in the $350-to-$500 range is too important to Apple's strategy of having an iOS device offered at every price point from $0 (currently the iPhone 5c) to $1000 (iPad Air 2/128MB/LTE+accessories).

Let's face it, aside from minor spec bumps to keep it current and support the latest iOS, what future innovations do you see for the iPad Mini in terms of features, size or otherwise?

You can't be serious. Just the same innovations like ipad or iphone: thinner, lighter, better screen (with 100% color gamut), more RAM, better processor, etc.

The iPhone 6+ is big enough to double as a small tablet, for those that need it. $400 for a mini doesn't make sense when the full size iPad is only $100 more.

Seems highly plausible, Apple will keep selling like it does with the iPod Touch models but no upgrades. What is there to upgrade about the iPad Mini, its complete and end of evolution.

If this is true, I've bought my last iPad until my current Mini just dies and won't come back to life. I've had a full-sized iPad before, and I have no desire to have another one.

If this is true then it would really be a slap in the face for someone like me. Right now, I have a lineup of Apple products that is virtually perfect. I need the following devices each for specific functions:

Phone- Communication.

Tablet- Information/ content consumption.

Laptop- Content creation/ work.

Hence, owning an iPhone 5, an iPad Mini, and a Macbook Pro is perfect. I have no use for an iPad Air as it is not portable.

And as for an iPhone 6 Plus... I find that just laughable. Too big to be comfortable to hold/pocket at all times, and too small to read or watch movies or browse the web on. I still don't understand the point.

Totally agree!!! My iPhone 5 is the perfect size for communication and light browsing. It's pocketable and goes with me everywhere. My iPad Mini is good for medium browsing, media consumption, and light productivity. I love being able to stick it in my purse and pull it out to get some homework done during nap time at the preschool I work at. We're not allowed to have phones out, but they do allow us to have tablets for homework since many of us are students. And then of course my MacBook Pro is for heavy browsing and productivity as well as providing a beautiful larger display for media from many sources. To each their own, but the iPad Mini fits perfectly into my device lineup where a 6+ or iPad Air would be awkward. And forget this iPad Pro. I'm not lugging that beast around, especially if it's still only running iOS. Talk about a ridiculously niche device! It could only be useful for business types and go against eveything Apple has been saying about touchscreen devices.

Total BS. The iPad mini is selling well and will get a substantial upgrade next year (thinner, lighter, laminated display). Besides being the perfect size for travel, it's also important as a low-cost iOS option.

I hope apple ends the iPad mini. It was a total failure from Apple to produce such a small tablet specially now with the iPhone 6/6plus.

Just get an iPhone Plus to replace your mini.

Sounds like what everyone has been saying about the iPod Touch over the last couple years and you can see what a substantial upgrade that got :D.
