Are the small camera cutouts on some cases affecting picture quality?

To me it seems so. I've tried 3-4 different cases and the ones with the big cutouts, while they look worse, seem to have much better picture quality. I remember this being an issue with one of the earlier models I had (I think it was the 5). Anyone else experience this?
