I got a GTX 970 and put it into my Ubuntu (14.04) test box: 270kPPD with 213watt from the wall (i3-3.3GHz), nothing else in the rig. Impressive for that little card.
Now I tried to use the same driver 343.22 on my main rig (2xGTX 780) and broke it. Recovered to former driver, but the GUI got impacted. Can only use a terminal window; no useful UI; but hey: that's enough for folding.
I'm seriously consider to retire the GTX 780 and get one for 970; moah points, less energy and heat (but unstable supply of WU potentially, as mainly 9201 works)
