Great plan! Especially when you use Hangouts or Wifi-calling (iPhone 6, in my case)

Just be aware that T-mobile wi-fi calling does count against your 100 minutes on this plan. Hangouts, Skype, other VOIP options do not.

T-mobile wifi calling is great for keeping coverage in buildings or low coverage areas but it's not unlimited free minutes on your plan.

Can you tell me how you get this for $29 with the GC's and do you get LTE?

Full cost for plan is $35/month. I think the poster means you get 5% off buying your refill with a Target RedCard....making it $33.25 per month. Then you get a $25 Gift Card from Target every 6 months you keep service....$25/6= $4.17/month discount. Therefore the effective cost is $29.08 per month. (Plus local sales tax)

Rate is 10c/min so if you regularly use 200-300 minutes, it'll cost you an extra $20-30 per month. Still not a bad plan all in all. If you need more minutes, though, Cricket offers unli talk/unli txt/5GB LTE data for $50/mo ($45 w/auto pay).

Hnmm the cricket $50 plan is only 3gb ;(

They advertise it as 3GB at 4G speeds. So I think so as that's the same way Tmobile advertises when they offer LTE, but I suppose it could also technically be limited to HSPA+. I don't have the Brightspot plan so can't say for sure. I suppose you could call their customer service and ask.

Also I wonder if other T-mobile features like wi-fi calling work? Anyone know?

EDIT: Actually just found this....apparently no LTE. Just HSPA+.

Wow that's a crazy good deal. I'd hate to ruin it for the guy who referred me to get the unlimited data otherwise I'd make the jump. Maybe next year if it's around.

I have the cricket 1GB plan, I think its a good deal. The tmobile $30 is a good deal if you use a lot of data and there is good coverage in your area

After months of waiting for my contract to expire with Verizon I made the switch yesterday. Easy peasy. I'll be saving over $60 a month now.

GoSmart for limited time is offering 6GB of Data on their $40 Plan = 3G/4G + LTE on All of T-Mobile's network.

For some it might be worth it if you live within big cities and have great coverage.

That plan would be absolutely amazing if WiFi-Calling was available (i'm not sure if it is)

Looks to me like GoSmart is only offering up to 3G speeds and then they downgrade you to 2G once you hit the limit. Therefore no HSPA+/LTE service.

$35 plan starts at 3G and upon 1 GB of use in a cycle is reduced to 2G speeds for remainder of cycle. $40 plan starts at 3G and upon 6 GB of use in a cycle is reduced to 2G speeds for remainder of cycle. $45 plan starts at 3G and upon 10 GB of use in a cycle is reduced to 2G speeds for remainder of cycle.

No roaming included on the cricket plan...so if your in a rural area somewhere and you have an emergency then cud be dangerous

If it's an emergency serious enough to warrant the cops or an ambulance, no worries. You can call 911 as long as you have a signal from any operator. The law says operators have to connect every 911 call, regardless of whether the caller is a customer.

I have this plan and love it, the best thing is speedtests don't count against your 5GB of data, and I don't believe music streaming when using the music freedom list of apps count against it either. This was a speedtest using this plan:

Cricket is also a good plan, except you are limited to ~8Mbps and higher pings.

I tried streaming through some of the apps on the list and it still was chewing through data for me.

great plan

Had this plan for 2 years so far in Jacksonville Florida. No complaints. Even if you go over your 100 min, its a reasonable price per min.

I'll have to test it myself, but I heard from others it doesn't count. They added a ton of new services now to that list, so I may test it out in the near future.

I heard the same thing which is why I tested it. I'm curious about your results. I just used the T-Mobile iOS app which showed my data being sucked away at the usual rate.

I had originally heard that music streaming didn't count against data on the $30 plan, but on Nov 17th I got this text making me think that maybe they changed their mind:

Free T-Mobile Msg: Upgrade to a $50/month prepaid plan and stream music without impacting your data allocation. Visit my.T-Mobile.com, a store, or call 611.

Can someone verify? (I don't really use any of the exempted services)
