whats the better deal?

target iPad mini 2 32gb $349 plus $100 gift card (buy during black friday)

or

apple refurb iPad mini 2 32gb $299 (can be bought now)

Definitely the former. You'd be getting a new one vs a used one. I just returned a 32GB mini 2 refurb. Battery life was disappointing (could never get more than 9hours even though it was setup as new, background apps turned off, bluetooth off, with light usage), and the touch screen was occasionally unresponsive (tapping links in Safari would not register until you scroll up/down). Plus with Target you'd get from 30-90 days return depending if you use a redcard vs 14 day return. Pair the redcard with pharmacy rewards and you'd get 10% off the $349.

This topic has been beat to death, but there's literally no difference with how a refurb looks and performs over a new one. You probably got a faulty one that wasn't inspected properly and could've returned it for a new one.

Not to say the Targe deal isn't better. You get an extra $50 to buy a case and accessories for it.

Wasn't last year's sale $100 off regular iPad Air price + $100 Gift card? My target card account shows I paid $499 for iPad Air 32GB instead of $599 and got a $100 gift card.

I'm not able to go to the store this year when doors open. I hope the promotion will be online either to order/ship or order/pick up in store.

Anyone know what time online the Gift Card be available on Thanksgiving?

I bought my mom her iPad Air 32GB last year at Target Black Friday.

Now it's my turn to upgrade my iPad 3 64GB to an iPad Air 2 64GB.

Last year's Thanksgiving day sale at Target included the 16GB iPad Air for $479 with a $100 gift card. The 32GB iPad Air was $599 with a $100 gift card.

I do not know how your iPad purchase during the Thanksgiving sale could have been for $499.

Question: If I buy an iPad and get the gift card, then return the iPad, what would happen to the gift card?

I'll bet that Target never considered that possibility!

Actually, the value of the gift card is subtracted from the refund for the iPad.

Hmmmmm.

Is paying $249 or $299 for the same thing the better deal?

I buy things from Target monthly. For me, the gift card is the same as cash.

Guys. Just like last year. Look at the ad very closely. These $140 gift cards are not door busters.

You can order them online. Target will get you a digital coupon to use the $140 online or in its retail store.

I purchased a 32gb iPad air in retail store last Black Friday 2013. Got $100 gift card. But the store didn't carry 64gb model. So I found out I could order them online. So I got same $100 gift card with online order as well.

So this 2014 $140 gift card is available online. Hopefully they will have 64gb cellular model for online order.

Anyone know what time last year the sale started online? Gotta get 2 mini 2s for the kiddos.
