I'm just leaving this here in hope of helping others facing similar issues in the future and won't have to go thru this path to find out.
Long story short, was trying to replace a cracked 2013 Haswell MacBook Pro LCD panel, tried to slap on a known good Late 2012 MBPR, didnt work at all.
Concerning:
MacBook Pro Retina (Late 2012/Early 2013) (Ivy Bridge)
MacBook Pro Retina (Mid 2013 - Late 2014) (Haswell)
Unlike the MacBook Airs (2011-2014)
Their LCD Panels are NOT interchangeable.
LCD connector fits but it will not power on, screen remains pitch black. (No image, no backlight. dead.)
WiFi antenna are longer by 3cm for the 2013 model
FaceTime HD connector is larger on the 2013 model. Nothings interchangeable. Ill try to have some pictures uploaded later.
