I had a iphone 3gs, then 4 on 2 seperate 18 month contracts. Now i no longer have the iphone, i do however have an ipad.

A situation has presented itself, where i need to read my text messages from september 2012. As i may need to use this information as evidence.

Regular backups were made to itunes & the cloud.

Can anyone tell me how to retrieve this info?

TIA

The carriers may have this information, but I am not sure. The NSA most definitely has it

Like Applejuiced said, you can't restore an iPad from an iPhone backup.

Also, you need a more "unique" title.

At the iPhone hacks section.
They didn't know about the program, would be my first guess.

Bingo:D
And also not sure how well a particular program works, with what model iphone backups and firmware version backups is compatible with and operating systems it runs on and also programs like that are not free and many many more other unknowns etc....
These are all 3rd party programs that some are questionable and also unsupported by Apple and not very user friendly.
Use at your own risk.

thanks for your help guys, I tried this http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm. I dont have a itunes back-up on hard drive that i can find. i may have deleted this to save space. and when i logged into the icloud side of things, it only shows my ipad back-up.

I don't understand that, my iphone was backed up to the cloud many times
