iTunes Backup instead of iCloud Backup to move to new iPhone?

Another user saying yes to iTunes backup here. Did it twice when I upgraded from 4 -> 5 then 5 -> 6 , no issues either time.

Since the OP is not looking for a backup, but rather an easy way to ensure photos are in a new device, consider using iCloud Shared Photo Albums. They don't use up iCloud storage, have pretty high limits, and ensure that photos are available to any iOS device using that iCloud account. Probably not an option if you have 200G of photos, but otherwise a decent solution.

I see. So restoring from a backup will NOT remove the "Other" data.
