Hey guys- currently have an offer for a 2013 iMac @ $2500.

27" 3.5 i7 quad core
32gb of ram
512gb SSD
Applecare till Oct 2016
780m 4GB video card

Good deal or should I wait it out till Apple releases something new?

All yes so far! No one thinks I should wait for any refreshes though? We're right up there in 5k iMac/Mac Pro territory at 2500 too-- and this iMac has been out over a year now.

I guess I'm always tentative to pull the trigger...

While I didn't pull the trigger on such an expensive machine, I just bought a 2013 27" i5 with 16gb ram, Applecare and 1TB fusion for $1450 (a steal for that machine, much like your pricing) and I have absolutely no regrets. It is a fantastic machine, beautiful display, and I do not wish I had gotten Retina one bit.

Retina would be nice but you can always sell. What processor is that one running ?

True-- I guess I can't really go wrong with everything maxed out. Main uses are GPU related, and I won't need thunderbolt (will be using both ports as mini-display ports only).

Would an older style Mac Pro suit my needs more?

Thanks for the advice guys! I actually ended up not taking the offer, just watching ebay, and just won an identical machine (except with the 1tb flash!) for 2150. Good things come to those who wait!!!
