What happens to current documents after upgrading to iCloud Drive?

I have documents like games data, documents, Pages document, Safari data and WhatsApp backup data etc on my current iCloud(not upgraded to iCloud Drive yet)

What happens to them after I upgrade to iCloud Drive?
Do they remain or get deleted?

My documents synced over but the best corse of action is to have a local copy saved.
