I have noticed recently that if I Google some issue or other and the search leads me to an Apple support page like http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18431 for example, Safari just displays a blank page when I follow the link. But if I copy the URL from the address field in Safari and paste it into another browser (say Firefox) I get to see the page perfectly well.

This only happens with pages at support.apple.com as far as I can see. It is happening both on my MacBook Pro running Yosemite and on my iMac running Mavericks. If I just enter the URL support.apple.com without anything else, however, that page does come up OK.

What can be the cause of this and what might be the cure? It seems very strange not to be able to view Apple's pages using their own browser.
